About Us

Who are we?

Flowers, fetes and festivities sum up the Community Partnership.

Over twenty years ago, several like-minded people got together with one thought: to enhance their local environment and organise events to bring the community together.
The group comprised local residents, local businesses as well as representatives from the Parish Council, Women's Institute and St. Peter's Church, and so, the Nettlestone & Seaview Community Partnership began.

Many of the volunteers have been with the Partnership since the start and their
continued support is greatly valued.
But we are always looking for more  (See : "Your Community Needs You" page)

PARISH COUNCIL

Nettlestone and Seaview also have a parish council and you can view their website by clicking on their logo below.

What do we do?

The Partnership put on 'fun' events in Nettlestone & Seaview throughout the year.
Volunteers organise and run the events, funded from the sale of raffle tickets.
Local businesses are a lifeline and year on year, they donate fabulous raffle prizes and, in some cases, provide direct financial support.

Additionally......

Funds raised are also used to enhance the local environment.
In conjunction with a local horticultural charity the Partnership sponsor and maintain seven floral planters on the railings in Seaview village and look after a further nine planters throughout Nettlestone and Seaview. They are much admired and are watered by local residents.

A few years ago, the Partnership created a garden and seating area at the sea end of Seaview High Street where residents and visitors alike, can rest and admire the sea views and sailing activities.
  • The Partnership is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of this area.  Recently, volunteers from Nettlestone & Seaview ‘Men in Sheds’ repaired and restored the benches and the memorial plaques.
In October and November the Partnership organise the planting of hundreds of spring bulbs in two of the Parish’s open spaces:  Sophie Watson’s Garden and Nettlestone Green.
This community initiative involved pupils and parents from the local school, members of Seaview Seniors and local volunteers.

The following local groups sit within the ‘umbrella’ of the Partnership;
  • Silver Surfers, (Meets once a month to help those older members of our community to learn basic IT skills)
  • Seaview Fun Choir
  • Nettlestone and Seaview Men in Sheds. (visit their website - click on the picture below:
